The Origin Collection.
The Origin Collection is the pinnacle of our new revitalised Accurist range. After rediscovering a vintage watch in the Accurist archives, we were reminded of the important role heritage plays in the legacy of a watch, and the brand behind it, as well as bringing out innovative products. Watches in the Origin range are creatively inspired by the best selling Accurist watch from the 1970's, which was directly inspired by the Britain outside the watchmakers window.
The Origin's Design
The Origin Collection is a design that we have reinvigorated from the Accurist Archives. Originally sold in the 1970’s, the original design was inspired not only by the architectural style of Brutalism, but also by the work of Swiss watchmaker and artist, Gérald Genta. Genta is still to this day heralded as one of the greatest watchmakers of all time, collaborating with the likes of Omega, Cartier and Audemars Piguet.
Accurist was founded in 1946 in London’s Clerkenwell district. As well as taking inspiration from world famous watch designers, you can also see the effects Brutalism had on Accurist design. Brutalism was an architectural style which first emerged in the UK in the 1950’s and continues into the 1970’s; focusing on minimal construction, Brutalism is all about cutting back on decorative, aesthetic design and admiring the bare materials.
Brutalism is a style that has never fully gone out of fashion. Over the past decade, minimalism is a trend that has also risen and proved its staying power, but has mainly focused on the sleekness and monochromatic colouring which is mostly attributed to Scandi design. At Accurist, we are bringing back British minimalism. Inspired by the architecture of our towns and cities, showcasing the premium quality materials of our watches and allowing the intricacy and beauty of the design to speak for itself.

Watches for Everyone.
Creating the collection which the whole of the relaunch of the Accurist brand was going to revolve around was no small feat. It was important to all of us to that the ethos of the brand is symbolised in our hero collection. For this to be true, we needed to make sure that everyone would be able to find something they loved within the Origin Collection.
The Origin collection features both watches for men and ladies, with different case sizes accommodating the wrist sizes of each gender. The Men's Origin watches have 41mm solid stainless steel cases, with their squared off lugs being the first stylistic feature you may attribute to its brutalist design. The ladies case size is smaller, measuring at 34mm. The Ladies Origin collection is an innovation that we are particularly proud of, offering a unique look and style for women looking for something different to the carbon copy 'elegant' style of other ladies watches.

Expansion of the range...
Since relaunch of the brand with 76 brand new watches in September 2022, the Origin collection has become a best seller. In particular, the blue dial Origin Chronograph watch (70001) seems to have been a hit. During the Christmas period we released hand curated Accurist gift sets, including five Origin watch options paired with two extra straps specifically picked for the watch.
In 2023, we launched the first automatics of the revitalised range. For a long time we have seen an outpouring of interest in Accurist Automatics and this was the next logical step for the brand, expanding the range to incorporate more movement options. The new Accurist Origin Automatics have styles for both men and ladies, featuring Skeleton, sunray and patterned dials with up to 50 hours power reserve.
